Kottilesben is a queer art collective based in Berlin, dedicated to amplifying voices of queer artists. We firmly believe that visibility is the most powerful way to overcome prejudice and change perspectives. To allow so, we aim to bridge the gap between the queer community and a wide-reaching audience. This is how we forge a powerful platform where queer culture and creativity claim their rightful place in the cultural landscape.
What we do
Kottilesben creates empowering exhibitions, events, and projects in collaboration with queer artists and partners. We also collaborate with businesses and brands, who share the same values. In everything we do, we strive to be as inclusive as possible, recognizing diversity and intersectionality. No matter if queer or not – our collective is welcoming of anyone who stands in solidarity with queer communities and expressions. Through art, dialogue, and collaboration our spaces make people feel seen, heard, and celebrated.
How Kottilesben was born
Kottilesben was founded by a group of friends, each of whom brings their individual form of expression to the table. Using their collective inspiration as a driving force, Kottilesben has grown beyond just a close-knit group of friends—it has become a vibrant community.
The term lesbian has long carried a negative connotation and was often stigmatized. But we see how people today are reclaiming it with pride. With Kottilesben, we make a statement for identity, strength, and community. Anyone can be a Kottilesbe.
